For just over a year, this small, vibrant space on Smallegade was full most nights and locals used to peek in the window to see if they could get a table. Until this past February, Kargo Apartment was available exclusively for private events, but now, a new social dining concept means everyone can get a taste of the action. Whether you’re a party of two or twenty, take a seat and let their skilled chefs treat you to everything from freshly baked bread rolls with whipped ramson butter to handmade pasta and a signature duo of desserts. The setting is refined yet relaxed, and the food is a journey through different continents by way of shared plates and seasonal ingredients.

WHAT YOU GET

Enjoy 10 servings at Kargo Apartment. The menu is chef’s choice, so dishes rotate regularly and reflect the best produce of the season. Tuck into starters like scallop crudo with wasabi and fresh dill, Nocellara olives marinated in orange zest and herbs, and popover bread rolls with whipped ramson butter. Taste beef carpaccio garnished with wild mushrooms, microgreens, and crunchy croutons, then savor handmade sausage ravioli with truffle foam. Eat crispy fried wontons filled with burnt onion purée and new potatoes tossed in wild garlic butter. Bite into braised pork with herb cream and grilled seasonal vegetables. Indulge in the first of a duo of desserts, a layered dome of passionfruit and tonka bean mousse topped with rhubarb and oat crumble. Finish the meal with a rich chocolate mousse drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with a pinch of sea salt.
