Nested in Fuglekvarteret (‘the bird quarter’) of Nordvest, people have been flocking to Flere Fugle since the start. Within months of opening in March 2022, it was voted the City’s Best Bakery in Politiken and received 5 out of 6 hearts. This vibrant venue wears many hats. One day you might see a concert while eating your croissant, and the next visit might have you eating pizza during a talk on politics. The culinary crew likes to experiment with seasonal ingredients and they’re serious about sourdough. Flere Fugle may be tucked away, but it is always worth the trip.

WHAT YOU GET

Pick whatever you like at Flere Fugle. Grab a seat in the garage or get it to go. Bite into a buttery croissant, from plain or pain au chocolat to double-baked almond. Go for a bowl of local yogurt with granola and berry compote. Taste a lemon swirl, which is citrusy sweet, studded with fresh lemon zest and poppy seeds. Order everything from a cappuccino to a cortado, all made with La Cabra coffee beans. Pop in for a pizza, like the ‘Fungy Autumn’ topped with Funga Farm mushrooms, creamy stracciatella, garlic, and punchy parsley-lemon gremolata. Snack on housemade romesco and their signature sourdough, or slurp Rømø oysters. Don’t sleep on their selection of natural wines; you can get a few by the glass, but they have three full fridges of bottles for you to peruse. Or, if you want to sip on something seasonal, they make gløgg with local spirits in collaboration with Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri.
